Hi, I’m Clare aka ClarityDoula. I became a doula because I feel passionately about helping people to 'write their own positive birth stories'. When a baby is born, a new parent is born too, and the experience of labour and birth, as well as how you feel during the first few weeks of your baby's life, will impact on both of your lives forever. As a birth doula I will provide informational, emotional and physical support both in the run up to, and during your child's birth, thereby helping you to achieve your ideal birth, whatever your preferences.
As a postnatal doula I will support you and your family to acclimatise to your new family configuration, helping meet the practical, emotional and logistical needs that accompany new motherhood. I am based in Bridport, Dorset and am ideally located to help with births at home or at hospitals in West Dorset, East Devon and South Somerset.
I chose the name 'ClarityDoula' not just because 'Clarity' is my husband's pet name for me but also because having a clear mind, where you understand the options available to you and have decided on your preferred path, is key when approaching labour, childbirth and caring for your newborn. It is then that you feel confident, empowered and free from fear. As a knowledgeable and experienced mother of three I can help bring ‘clarity’ to your mind and life in the exciting and turbulent days of new parenthood.
